Juventus vs Parma: New Attack Takes Center Stage in Turin

Juventus welcome Parma to the Allianz Stadium tonight with a reshaped frontline and key absences forcing early-season adjustments from the Bianconeri.

Kick-off is at 20:45 CET (19:45 BST) in Turin, where Randal Kolo Muani and Jonathan David are both expected to start in an attack built to hurt Parma on the break and between the lines.

Juve patched up, but dangerous

Kenan Yildiz and Weston McKennie are both out injured, stripping Juventus of energy and invention in the final third and midfield. To complicate matters, Kephren Thuram is not fully fit and may not even make the squad, leaving the hosts light on powerful runners in the centre of the pitch.

That puts more on the shoulders of Manuel Locatelli and Douglas Luiz at the base of a 4-2-3-1 that will have to control the game and protect a defence still settling.

At the back, Lloyd Kelly is tipped to get the nod over new signing Jhon Lucumì, with the former Bournemouth defender currently ahead in the pecking order. Out wide, Zeki Çelik and Andrea Cambiaso are locked in a tight battle for the left-back slot, a choice that will shape how aggressive Juve can be down that flank.

Sky Sport and Gazzetta report that Canada international Jonathan David is expected to operate as an attacking midfielder, floating behind Kolo Muani rather than leading the line himself. It’s a role that should allow him to drift into pockets, link play and arrive late in the box.

On the left, Kerim Alajbegović is set to start, offering direct running and width to balance a front four that looks built for speed and vertical passing rather than patient, methodical buildup.

Parma stick to their principles

Parma arrive with a clear idea of who they are and how they want to play. Despite a 1-0 home defeat to Cagliari in their opening match, they are expected to stick with a 4-3-3 at the Allianz Stadium.

Head coach Carlos Cuesta has only one absentee: Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, the Juventus academy product who misses the chance to face his former club. His absence simplifies the midfield choices but removes a technical option in the middle of the park.

There is better news out wide. Sascha Britschgi returns from a one-game ban and is likely to start as an attacking winger, restoring some of Parma’s edge on the flanks. El Bilal Touré is set to lead the line as a lone striker, a reference point for counters and crosses against a Juventus defence that will be tested in transition.

Parma’s shape will be bold. Their 4-3-3 is designed to press, to break quickly, and to stretch opponents. Whether they can impose that at the Allianz, after a losing start, is another question entirely.
