He is said to be open to relocating to London, but only under specific conditions that reflect his life in Madrid.

Key Conditions

Key among them is family. Álvarez wants members of his extended family, who currently live with him in the Spanish capital, to move with him. That brings its own complications: visas, housing, and the practicalities of uprooting several people at once. Arsenal, though, are understood to be aware of these demands and ready to help facilitate the transition if a deal can be struck.

Barcelona Clause

There is another twist. To tempt Álvarez away from his Barcelona dream, Arsenal are said to be willing to build a so‑called “Barcelona clause” into any agreement. Such a provision could allow the forward a defined pathway to the Camp Nou in the future, while still committing to Arsenal in the short term.

For the player, it offers a compromise – a step towards the Premier League now, without completely closing the door on the club he has always wanted. For Arsenal, it is a calculated gamble: secure a top-level attacker today, accept that his long-term future might lie elsewhere.
