Al-Ittihad's Move for Hakim Ziyech Amidst Wydad Crisis

Al-Ittihad have made their move for Hakim Ziyech, sensing opportunity in the middle of a full-blown crisis between the Morocco star and Wydad that has thrown his future into chaos.

According to “Africa Foot”, the Libyan club have put a sizeable financial package on the table, determined to lure Ziyech with strong terms and a quick route out of his current standoff. The offer is there. The door is open. But nothing is signed.

Negotiations over his contract with Wydad are still dragging on, with no breakthrough in sight. What began as tension has hardened into a serious rupture, driven by financial, sporting and disciplinary disagreements that have piled up in recent weeks. Several meetings between the player and the club hierarchy have done little to ease the strain; if anything, the gap has widened.

The dispute exploded into the public arena when Ziyech went on social media and directly accused Wydad president Ibrahim El Assri of lying. That post turned a private war of words into a very public showdown.

Inside the club, there is a clear desire to close this chapter and move on. Wydad want to put an end to the crisis and regain some stability. Ziyech, though, is standing firm. He is demanding what he believes he is owed and, according to the same source, is prepared to escalate the case to FIFA if no agreement is reached.

Al-Ittihad are watching all of this unfold and have already placed their bet. The question now is whether the legal and financial battle with Wydad clears in time for Ziyech to walk through a new door – or whether this dispute drags on and reshapes the next chapter of his career.
