When Does the 2026-27 Bundesliga Season Begin?

The 2026-27 Bundesliga season kicks off on August 9, starting a few weeks earlier than last season. It will run until May 22, 2027, finishing about a week later than usual.

Fixtures Announcement for 2026-27 Bundesliga

The schedule for both the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga was made public on July 2, 2026. Keep in mind, while the matchweeks are set, exact days and kickoff times remain flexible due to TV rights, European competitions, and the DFB-Pokal cup matches.

International Breaks During the Season

This season brings a slight change to international breaks. Instead of three separate one-week pauses during fall, there will be one two-week break and one one-week break. This means no league games on the weekends of September 26, October 3, and November 14. Additionally, there is a break scheduled for the weekend of March 27.

German Teams in UEFA Competitions

Seven German clubs will participate in UEFA tournaments next season: four in the Champions League, two in the Europa League, and one in the Conference League. Schedules for each competition have been released separately.
