Woltemade Praises Spalletti’s Aura During Loan Spell

Nick Woltemade needed only one meeting with Luciano Spalletti to understand exactly where his career had taken him.

The German striker, on loan at Bianconeri from Newcastle after a summer move, has thrown himself into life under the Tuscan coach and, speaking to DAZN, painted the picture of a manager who fills the room before he even speaks.

“When I met Spalletti for the first time with my family, we all thought one single thing: aura,” Woltemade said. “He has a huge aura, he seems calm, but he is very clear in what he wants both on the pitch and off it.”

That first impression has set the tone for his early weeks in Italy. A new league, a new dressing room, a new tactical language – it can unsettle even seasoned professionals. Woltemade has chosen to lean into it.

He described Spalletti as a coach who did not wait around. From day one, the focus narrowed onto details, corrections, the small adjustments that separate a promising forward from a reliable one.

“He is helping me a lot and immediately began working closely with me to help me improve. I am certain I will become a better player under him,” the forward added.
