Thomas Tuchel Predicts Harry Kane Will Join Ronaldo and Messi in 100-Goal Club Soon
Thomas Tuchel Confident Harry Kane Will Reach 100 Goals for England
Thomas Tuchel believes Harry Kane is close to joining an elite group of international scorers, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, by hitting 100 goals for England. The England captain currently has 87 goals and Tuchel expects him to reach the century mark within just 13 more matches.
Kane’s Remarkable Scoring Pace
After scoring in England’s recent 2-0 UEFA Nations League win over the Czech Republic, Kane climbed to eighth on the all-time international scoring list. Only a few legends have scored more than 100 international goals: Ronaldo, Messi, and Ali Daei. Tuchel pointed out how rare it is to find a player like Kane, saying, “You will not get another Harry Kane, first of all. He is the highest level of goalscorer.”
England Faces Challenges Beyond Kane
Tuchel also warned that replacing Kane’s goal-scoring ability could take time. He admitted the Three Lions may need up to ten years before they find someone who can fill Kane’s shoes, explaining, “There will be someone else but it will not be Harry or a copy of Harry. We will find a solution when it comes to it but maybe not me.”
Kane Stays Grounded Amid Milestone Pursuit
Despite growing anticipation around his goal tally, Kane remains focused on the present. Having already broken Wayne Rooney’s England record of 53 goals three years ago, he is preparing to earn his 124th cap in the upcoming match against Croatia. Last season at Bayern Munich, he scored 73 goals, proving his continued world-class form and making him a contender for the Ballon d’Or.
Kane shared his thoughts on approaching 100 goals, saying, “I don’t like to think too far ahead, but of course, it’s getting closer. 100 goals for the national team would be something special without a doubt. It still feels like yesterday I just broke the record… The seasons come and they go quickly, so I just enjoy being out there with the boys on the pitch, wearing the Three Lions shirt and that won’t change.”
Building Team Strength After Czech Republic Win
Kane emphasized the primary role of scoring goals in his position and the satisfaction it brings him. Reflecting on his recent goal, he said, “The striker’s job is to score goals first and foremost, and I know that, and I love doing that. It’s still the best feeling there is.” He also noted sometimes his influence extends beyond scoring, through passing and creating chances.
Looking at the team’s performance, Kane admitted England could improve their final passes and crosses despite securing the victory. He concluded, “The final product has to be perfect and I don’t think it was quite there. But in the end, a win’s a win. I’ve been around long enough where sometimes you just have to win the game and move on, and tonight was one of those.”
