Tottenham Reject Everton's Bid for Richarlison

Tottenham Hotspur have turned down an offer from Everton for Richarlison, with the London club holding firm on their valuation of the Brazilian forward.

Richarlison is understood to be keen on a return to his former club, but Spurs have made it clear that Everton’s proposal falls short of the figure they want. Tottenham are looking for at least £35 million before they even consider signing off on a deal.

The 29-year-old knows Goodison Park well. He spent four seasons on Merseyside, becoming a fan favourite, before leaving for Tottenham in a £60m move in 2022. That price tag still shapes Spurs’ stance: they are not prepared to take a heavy hit on a player who remains a regular part of their squad.

Richarlison has featured consistently for Roberto De Zerbi’s side in pre-season, staying involved while Spurs reshape their attack. The Italian wants fresh blood in the forward line, with Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and Manchester City’s Savinho on his wish list. If either – or both – arrive, Richarlison’s place in the pecking order could come under serious threat.

That possibility has only fuelled talk of a reunion with Everton. David Moyes is pushing for attacking reinforcements this summer and knows exactly what Richarlison can bring: goals, aggression, and a connection with a fanbase that watched him produce some of the best football of his career in blue.

For now, though, sentiment does not pay the fee. Everton will have to move closer to Spurs’ demands if they want any realistic chance of getting the deal done. Tottenham’s stance has precedent.

The Toffees recently tried to prise Djed Spence away from North London, tabling a £25m offer for the England international. Spurs held out for more, and Inter Milan stepped in, sealing a £30m deal that also included a 10 per cent sell-on clause. Tottenham got their number. Everton walked away empty-handed.

The risk for Everton is clear. Richarlison is not short of admirers, and other clubs are monitoring his situation, ready to act if the price or the opportunity looks right.

If Moyes and Everton truly want their former talisman back, they may have only one option left: pay up, or watch someone else take him.
