Tottenham Looks to Strengthen Attack with Loan Interest in Franco Mastantuono

After bringing in six new players under Roberto De Zerbi, Tottenham is seeking to boost their attacking options ahead of the new season. The club recently gave fans a taste of their summer signings with a behind-closed-doors 1-0 win over MK Dons, where Mateus Fernandes impressed with a stunning volley early on.

With the team preparing for a pre-season tour in New Zealand and Australia, supporters are eager to see more of the newcomers including Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali.

Interest in Real Madrid's Franco Mastantuono

Tottenham has reportedly initiated contact regarding a loan deal for Franco Mastantuono, a promising 18-year-old from Real Madrid. According to Argentine source Cronica, the youngster, who joined Los Blancos for £38.5 million in June 2025, could be sent out on loan to gain more playing time.

The versatile player, capable of playing both right-wing and attacking midfield roles, appeared in 23 LaLiga matches last season, starting 11 of them. Real Madrid, eager to find the best development pathway for Mastantuono, seems open to a loan without a purchase option.

Competition for Mastantuono's Signature

Besides Tottenham, several clubs have shown interest, including Fulham, Juventus, Inter Milan, Como, Porto, Benfica, Sporting CP, Villarreal, Rennes, Lyon, Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig. Fulham is considered the main rival in this pursuit.

Need for Attacking Depth at Tottenham

The club needs more depth in attack after strengthening defense and midfield this summer. De Zerbi would benefit from an additional right-wing option since Wilson Odobert is out with an ACL injury, and Dejan Kulusevski’s return remains uncertain after over a year sidelined.

Mohammed Kudus aims to make a strong comeback on the right wing following injuries that limited him to just two appearances in 2026. Mathys Tel might also be deployed on the right if not used on the left.

Other right-wing choices include Manor Solomon and Yang Min-hyeok, though both could be transferred due to limited playing opportunities.

Signing Mastantuono, who netted three goals last season for Real Madrid, would provide De Zerbi with versatile attacking options on the right or centrally as an attacking midfielder.
