Ruben Amorim Alters Milan's Starting XI for Lazio Clash

Ruben Amorim has ripped up his original plan on the day of the game.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Milan coach has opted to leave Yunus Musah on the bench for the Serie A clash with Lazio, handing a starting spot in central midfield to Adrien Rabiot and pushing Ruben Loftus-Cheek into the attacking midfield role.

Musah had been widely tipped to line up alongside Luka Modric in a two-man midfield. That partnership will have to wait. Rabiot is now set to anchor the middle of the pitch, with Loftus-Cheek pushed higher between the lines to support the attack.

The rest of the XI stays as expected. Pervis Estupinan keeps his place at left wing-back, while Samuel Chukwueze returns on the opposite flank to give Milan width and direct running on both sides.

Italy youngster Alphadjo Cissé will operate as the other attacking midfielder, tasked with linking play and breaking into the box behind lone striker Gonçalo Ramos, who once again leads the line for the Rossoneri.

Christian Pulisic must settle for a place on the bench again, but Amorim has already promised the USMNT winger his first minutes of the season today. The tactical reshuffle is clear: more craft between the lines, more physicality in midfield, and big names waiting in reserve if the game in Rome starts to tilt away from Milan.
