Roma Shows Strong Interest in RB Leipzig’s Antonio Nusa Amid Lucrative Transfer Talks
Roma Eyes RB Leipzig's Winger Antonio Nusa
Roma has turned its attention to RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The 21-year-old Norwegian is under consideration following the departures of Mason Greenwood to Fenerbahce and Crysencio Summerville to Al-Hilal.
Discussions between Roma and Leipzig's senior management have already taken place, signaling serious intent. Yet, Leipzig demands a hefty transfer fee ranging from €50 million to €60 million for the attacker, whose contract extends through 2029.
Alternative Targets on Roma’s List
Given the steep price tag, Roma is investigating other options. Among these are Benfica’s Andreas Schjelderup and 1. FC Cologne’s Said El Mala, aged 19. The latter is also attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund, intensifying competition.
Broader Interest Surrounding Nusa
Nusa’s appeal goes beyond Italy. Reports from June indicate that English clubs like Newcastle United and Arsenal are keen, with others such as Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, and Crystal Palace also admiring the fast winger.
Bayern Munich has been linked to Nusa, though their recent acquisition of Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven reduces the likelihood of a move there.
Background and Performance
Antonio Nusa transferred to RB Leipzig from Club Brugge in the summer of 2024 for €21 million. He quickly became a regular starter, demonstrating versatility on both wings.
Last season, Nusa appeared in 35 matches across all competitions, scoring five goals and assisting four times.
