Real Madrid Prioritizes Yan Diomande, Pauses Rodri Hernandez Signing
Real Madrid Shifts Focus to Yan Diomande Over Rodri Hernandez
Real Madrid has decided to delay finalizing the signing of Rodri Hernandez, despite earlier expectations that the deal with the Manchester City and Spain midfielder was near completion. Instead, the club is concentrating on securing Yan Diomande, whose transfer is currently closer to being finalized.
Diomande Deal Nears Completion
The Ivorian forward's transfer to Real Madrid is in its final stages. Only a few formalities remain before Diomande can join training under Jose Mourinho. Both clubs have agreed on a contract spanning five seasons, and the club is working to reassure the player as they aim to wrap up the process this week.
Real Madrid had hoped to close the Diomande deal early this week, but disagreements over a contractual clause caused unexpected delays, pushing back the player's arrival alongside his new teammates.
Rodri Transfer Put on Hold
The planned discussions with Manchester City regarding Rodri, originally scheduled for Thursday, have been postponed. Although interest in the midfielder remains strong, other priorities have taken precedence for now.
Rodri's potential signing gained momentum after his standout performances during the World Cup semi-final and final, turning him from a peripheral option into a top target. His technical ability, fitness level, and impressive career history have convinced Real Madrid’s leadership that he fits their needs. The anticipated transfer fee could reach close to 100 million euros.
