The Norwegian goalkeeper’s case is built on a standout international campaign: 16 saves across the tournament and a headline moment in the round of 16, when he denied Brazil star Bruno Guimaraes from the spot. Those performances didn’t just turn heads; they hardened his belief that he belongs at the top level and should be starting in Saxony.

Speaking to Bulinews.com, the keeper made his stance plain. He expects minutes. He expects responsibility.

"I know I'm going to get my playing time, so I'm not very worried about that. I demonstrated my level and my qualities in the World Cup. I think that spoke enough about me. That's why they signed me and that's why they want to use me as well."

There’s history here, too. This isn’t his first spell at Red Bull Arena, and the memories of that initial stint still drive him. He has already tasted success in Leipzig colours and hasn’t forgotten the feeling.

"It's something very positive that I still remember with pride," he said of lifting domestic silverware during his earlier time at the club.
