Managers at Risk of Losing Their Jobs During the International Break

The first international break of the Premier League season is here, giving players a chance to represent their countries. The league will pause until October 10th, but not all managers will enjoy a break from pressure. Some could be shown the door before club matches resume.

Tottenham Hotspur currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League after three defeats and two draws in their first five games. Expectations were high following a spending spree of over £300 million on players like Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Savio, and Jan Paul van Hecke. Despite the poor start, De Zerbi's job might be saved only by the financial burden of ending the five-year contract he signed in April.

Michael Carrick

Came in as interim coach for Manchester United in January and sparked a significant improvement, but since being made permanent, results have slumped. United are now in the lower half of the table with just five points from five games, including losses to Hull City and Manchester City. The club’s leadership still supports Carrick, but they may face a tough choice if performance doesn’t pick up soon.

Alvaro Arbeloa

Fulham got off to a terrible start with three straight league losses. Things have stabilized somewhat with draws against Liverpool and Manchester United, but rumors of unrest in the dressing room caused by Arbeloa signing several Castilla players might undermine team unity. If the internal division continues and poor results follow, Arbeloa’s future could be in jeopardy.

Frank Lampard

After guiding Coventry City to the Championship title and their first top-flight promotion in 25 years, Lampard faces a tough challenge. Coventry remain in the relegation zone after losing four of five opening matches, despite a recent win against Nottingham Forest. Fans still back Lampard, but continued struggles might lead to a quick change.
