Premier League Clubs’ Net Spend in the 2026-27 Summer Transfer Window

Premier League Spending Trends in Summer 2026

The summer transfer window for the 2026 Premier League season is well underway, and clubs are already opening their wallets wide. More than 3 billion has been spent so far, with several weeks left before the deadline. Tottenham Hotspur leads the charge, having invested nearly 30m in an effort to escape relegation troubles.

Tottenhams major signings include 32.5m for Sandro Tonali, 35m on Mateus Fernandes, and 52m for Jan Paul van Hecke, plus a few free transfers. Some of those purchases have also weakened rival Premier League teams.

Manchester Citys most notable move was a 66m deal for Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, a player who impressed at the World Cup. Brighton and Hove Albion have exceeded 100m in spending too, although part of that figure comes from a near swap of centre-backs with Tottenham — selling Van Hecke for 52m and buying Luka Vuskovic for 50m.

On the flip side, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle United have brought in more than 100m through player sales. Chelsea parted ways with Marc Cucurella and Andrey Santos, both fetching over 50m each, with Santos heading to Manchester United.
