Chelsea have already poured more than £290 million into new signings this summer.

Fans know the Premier League season never truly pauses, especially during the summer transfer window packed with action. Clubs either look to build on last season's success or recover from disappointments by shoring up their squads, often through costly transfers.

This summer, spending is expected to surpass the billion-pound mark across the league. Some clubs have splurged, while others are waiting for bargains before the window closes.

Clubs Ranked 20-16 by Net Spend

If the transfer window closed today, these teams would start the new campaign with solid bank balances. Whether that money translates into enough squad depth remains to be seen.

Arsenal made two big signings: Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge and Piero Hincapié, whose loan was made permanent at £34m. Departures like Leandro Trossard softened the spending.
