Pedro Neto Transfer Interest Grows as Deadline Approaches

Pedro Neto has emerged as one of the late-summer bargaining chips at Stamford Bridge – and some of the Premier League’s biggest hitters are circling.

The 26-year-old winger, a Portugal international, is drawing interest from four top-flight clubs, with Manchester City among those tracking his situation. At Chelsea, Neto is not in the small group of ‘untouchables’, and that changes everything as the transfer deadline creeps closer. If the right offer lands, the club are prepared to talk.

They will not, however, sell cheaply.

Chelsea paid £54m to sign Neto from Wolves in 2024 and are adamant any deal must reflect what they see as a distorted market for wide forwards. Executives at the club point to the £117m spent on Morgan Rogers and Paris St-Germain’s £145m valuation of Bradley Barcola as evidence of how prices have spiralled for players in Neto’s position. Those benchmarks have fed directly into their stance: anyone wanting Neto will have to pay a premium.

That is the backdrop as City weigh their options. Neto is on their list and a move to the Etihad would reunite him with Enzo Maresca, the former Chelsea head coach now in charge of the champions. The pair are understood to enjoy a strong relationship, and Neto was among the players reported to have been frustrated when Maresca left midway through last season.

Now, with the window ticking down and the winger’s future no longer ring-fenced, the question is simple: who will push hardest to prise him away from west London?
