Reports indicate that Newcastle United has finalized the compensation amount to acquire German coach Matthias Jaissle from Saudi club Al-Ahli. Jaissle resigned from his role at Al-Ahli on Thursday, clearing his path to lead Newcastle next season as the successor to Eddie Howe.

Transfer Details and Contract Terms

Renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano shared via X that Newcastle will pay roughly 11 million euros to Al-Ahli for Jaissle’s services. The coach is set to arrive on Saturday to be officially introduced as Newcastle’s sporting director, signing a contract lasting four years, which extends through 2030.

Jaissle was close to agreeing on a similar contract length with Al-Ahli, but negotiations stalled over a clause ensuring full salary payment if he were dismissed—a condition the Saudi side declined.

Jaissle’s Impact at Al-Ahli

Since taking charge in 2023 after replacing Pitso Mosimane, Jaissle spent three seasons with Al-Ahli. During this period, he led the team to two AFC Champions League Elite titles and secured the Saudi Super Cup, the club's first in nine years.
