Mohamed Salah Receives Six-Month Driving Ban and Fine

Mohamed Salah has been handed a six‑month driving ban and a fine after failing to identify the driver of his luxury electric Rolls-Royce, a court in Cheshire has ruled.

The Trabzonspor forward was convicted in his absence at Warrington Magistrates' Court after an electric Rolls-Royce Spectre, valued at more than €466,000, was caught speeding by a mobile camera in March 2026. Police asked Salah to confirm who had been behind the wheel.

He never did.

That silence led to a charge of failing to identify the driver responsible for the offence, rather than a straightforward speeding case. Magistrates reached their decision in August 2026, suspending the 34-year-old Egyptian’s licence for six months and imposing a €769 fine.

According to The Sun, the court had twice summoned Salah to appear, sending notices to his mansion, reportedly worth more than €5 million. Both went unanswered. With no sign of the player, the bench proceeded without him and delivered its verdict based on the documents and camera evidence available.

It is not the first time Salah’s driving has drawn the attention of the authorities.

In 2022, he was fined and hit with three penalty points after police clocked him driving a Ferrari F8 Tributo at excessive speed. Four years earlier, in 2018, he was filmed using a mobile phone while driving near Anfield, an incident that again placed his conduct on the road under scrutiny.

Now, with another case on his record and a ban in place, Salah’s discipline away from the pitch faces as many questions as his opponents do on it.
