Manchester United Transfer Window Updates: Raum, Kroupi, Obi, Zirkzee

Manchester United’s window is drifting towards its final hours, but the story around Old Trafford is anything but settled.

Raum stays on INEOS radar

On the left flank, David Raum remains a live option. The RB Leipzig full-back, out of contract in a year, is still being monitored by United’s new INEOS-led recruitment team, according to TeamTALK.

He has been on their list for some time, viewed as a potential solution in a position that has lacked stability and fitness reliability. With his deal running down, Leipzig face a decision: cash in now or risk losing him for far less later. United, watching closely, know that dynamic gives them leverage if they choose to move.

McCoist pushes Kroupi case

While United weigh up their defensive priorities, Ally McCoist has thrown a different name into the mix.

The former Scotland striker believes Bournemouth’s Eli Junior Kroupi is already ready to jump a tier. The 20-year-old is currently sidelined after a pre-season injury and is expected to be out for a spell, but McCoist insists that shouldn’t put United off.

Speaking to talkSPORT Bet, he pointed to Bournemouth’s recent scalps as proof of the level Kroupi operates at, highlighting wins at Arsenal and Newcastle as markers of how competitive Andoni Iraola’s side have become. For McCoist, the next step for the youngster is obvious: a Champions League-chasing club.

“In my opinion, he absolutely would not look out of place at a team like Manchester United,” he said, calling Kroupi a “smart signing” for a top-four or top-five side.

Injury or not, that is a strong endorsement at a time when United are searching for younger, high-upside attacking profiles.

Obi draws Feyenoord interest

At the other end of the age spectrum, one of United’s own prospects could be heading out.

Chido Obi, who arrived from Arsenal in 2024, is attracting interest from Feyenoord. The Danish forward has only tasted limited first-team action and has struggled to convince Michael Carrick he is ready for a regular senior role.

Reports in the Netherlands suggest Feyenoord are keen on a loan deal. For United, a temporary move to a club with Champions League ambitions and a strong record of developing young talent could offer exactly the kind of exposure Obi is currently missing in Manchester.

The question now is whether United see him as part of their medium-term plan, or as a player who needs to prove himself elsewhere before any bigger calls are made.

Zirkzee pushing for exit

If Obi’s future is open-ended, Joshua Zirkzee’s stance is far clearer.

The Dutch forward wants out before Tuesday’s deadline. Signed in 2024 amid high expectations, he has not become the attacking focal point many anticipated and is not in Carrick’s plans for the season ahead.

According to The Daily Mail, Zirkzee is expecting a move before the window shuts. The market is there for him. Aston Villa are leading the chase in England, while Napoli, Juventus and Roma have all been linked on the continent.

For United, his departure would free up wages and a squad place, potentially unlocking one more attacking move before the deadline. For Zirkzee, it is about minutes, responsibility, and a reset at a club willing to build around his talent.

As the clock ticks down, United’s window hangs on decisions like these: a left-back who might arrive, a young forward who may need to leave to grow, another who wants a clean break, and an injured Bournemouth talent being talked up as good enough for Old Trafford.
