Transfer Developments at Old Trafford

Manchester United's long pursuit of Senegal international Iliman Ndiaye appears over after Everton set a £75 million price tag that the club seems unwilling to meet. This leaves Al-Hilal as the leading contenders for the forward, despite Ndiaye’s preference to stay in Europe.

A new midfield target has come into view, with Juventus' Teun Koopmeiners attracting interest from United. The 28-year-old Netherlands midfielder, who moved from Atalanta BC to Juventus for £42.7 million in 2024, is also being chased by Aston Villa. Koopmeiners struggled for game time last season, starting just 18 out of 33 Serie A matches. Still, Manchester United urgently need midfield reinforcements due to Manuel Ugarte's extended absence with a knee injury.

The possibility of signing Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly is under consideration as well. Valued around £38.5 million, he is seen as an alternative to Newcastle's Lewis Hall. However, Arsenal reportedly have no plans to sell the 19-year-old prospect.

Manchester United are also continuing talks with Juventus about Portugal winger Francisco Conceicao, priced between £34 million and £42 million. With the Ndiaye deal off the table, Conceicao now looks like a more achievable target.

The situation with Aurelien Tchouameni at Real Madrid remains in the background. Manchester United appear to be waiting for confirmation that Rodri's arrival at Real will open the door for Tchouameni to become available.
