After Lille’s final preseason match against Everton, Ancelotti addressed rumors linking Bouaddi to Manchester City. He confirmed discussions between the clubs are underway and praised Bouaddi’s qualities.

“Of course, there are negotiations. There is interest from many clubs. He is a really, really good player and I hope he stays with us! What makes him special? He has huge personality, is incredibly intelligent on and off the pitch, and is very mature. At 18 years old, he looks like he is 32 when playing. Technically complete and physically strong in duels, he’s going to be one of Europe’s best midfielders for the next decade.”
