What has grabbed attention in England is simple: he defends first. Clubs see a full-back who relishes one-on-one duels, locks down his flank and still has the athleticism to surge forward and support attacks. He is naturally a right-back but can switch to the left when required, a versatility that instantly bumps his value in a modern squad.

Recruitment teams across the Premier League have increased their scouting of Aramburu this year, and his performances in LaLiga have pushed him firmly onto multiple shortlists.

Manchester City have already moved beyond the curiosity stage. They have carried out detailed checks on Aramburu as they weigh up options for a new right-back.

The champions looked at several profiles in the summer, including Chelsea’s Malo Gusto and Tottenham’s Tino Livramento. Aramburu was part of that same discussion, viewed as an option whose defensive reliability and ability to operate on either side of the back line fit neatly with City’s demands for tactical flexibility.

Liverpool have done their homework too. Club sources indicate the reports coming back on Aramburu have been overwhelmingly positive. The Reds have been scanning the full-back market and his profile has stood out: strong in defensive duels, positionally disciplined, and adaptable enough to cover multiple roles across the back four.

They are not alone. Tottenham, Newcastle United, Everton and Fulham all ran the rule over Aramburu in the summer, as interest in the Venezuelan continued to build.

The £50m question

Real Sociedad are not under pressure to sell. Aramburu is tied down until 2030, a long-term deal that gives La Real significant leverage in any negotiations.

City have already completed their initial assessment as they refine plans at right-back. Liverpool’s recruitment staff have also logged strong recommendations. With Tottenham, Newcastle, Everton and Fulham having tracked him as well, a battle for his signature could erupt quickly if any of them decide to turn interest into a formal bid.

For now, Aramburu remains committed to Real Sociedad and continues to grow his reputation in LaLiga. But with a defined price and a growing queue of admirers in England, it feels like only a matter of time before someone tests just how strong that commitment really is.
