Ismael Saibari Shines in Bayern Munich Debut

Ismael Saibari needed only a few minutes in a Bayern Munich shirt to show why the club moved for him this summer.

Thrown on in the 71st minute of a pre-season friendly against RB Leipzig, the Moroccan midfielder wasted no time. Bayern were already in control and on their way to a 3-1 win, but Saibari still managed to steal a slice of the spotlight.

The moment came in the 81st minute. Saibari slipped a decisive ball into the path of Jamal Musiala, who finished for Bayern’s third. One sharp contribution, one assist, and a first imprint on his new team’s attacking rhythm.

Bayern’s official channels reacted quickly, flooding social media on Saturday with posts welcoming their new signing and highlighting the impact of his debut cameo. For a player only just back in full training, it was exactly the kind of entrance the club would have hoped for.

Musiala’s night ended shortly after his goal. The German international left the pitch in the 86th minute after suffering a sudden setback, a note of concern on an otherwise encouraging evening for Bayern’s forward line.

Saibari joined the Bavarian side from PSV Eindhoven earlier in the summer, committing to a long-term deal that runs until 2031. The transfer followed his breakout on the international stage: he featured for Morocco at the 2026 World Cup, scoring three goals before an injury ruled him out of the quarter-final defeat to France.

That same injury had kept him working individually since the tournament. His appearance against Leipzig came only days after he rejoined group training, a rapid turnaround that made his sharpness and confidence on the ball stand out even more.

One friendly, one assist, and already a hint that Bayern’s latest project in midfield could grow into something substantial by the time the real games begin.
