FIFA World Cup 2026 Champions to Receive Unique Championship Rings

Whoever walks out of the New York–New Jersey Stadium as world champion on Monday will carry away more than the golden trophy and a lifetime of memories. They’ll also slip on something entirely new to football’s biggest stage: a championship ring.

For the first time at any FIFA tournament, the winners of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final between Spain and Argentina will be presented with bespoke rings alongside the World Cup trophy and their gold medals. It is football borrowing from the heart of American sport, importing a symbol long associated with dynasties in the NFL and NBA and planting it firmly on the game’s global summit.

FIFA has commissioned 2,026 individually numbered rings to mark this expanded 48‑team edition of the tournament. Thirty of those are reserved for the champions – players and key staff – while the remaining 1,996 will be released worldwide as officially licensed products, giving supporters the chance to own a small, heavy slice of World Cup history.

The design leans on tradition but adds a sharp twist. One flank of each ring carries the unmistakable silhouette of the FIFA World Cup trophy. The opposite side will be customised with the identity of the winning nation, a permanent engraving of a night that will define careers and, in some cases, entire eras.

Every ring is individually numbered and custom-fitted, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. These are not generic souvenirs; they are built to feel personal, to sit on a hand as comfortably as a well-worn captain’s armband or a trusted pair of boots.

On the night itself, the gesture will begin quickly. Immediately after the final whistle, amid the confetti and the chaos, the winning captain and head coach will each receive temporary rings as part of the on-pitch celebrations. The full set of 30 will then be tailored in the days that follow, adjusted for size and fit before being officially presented to the champions at a later date.

The World Cup has always been about lifting one iconic trophy to the sky. In 2026, for the first time, it will also be about what the winners wear on their hands when they come back down to earth.
