Ferran Torres Transfer to PSG Nears Completion as Barcelona Negotiates

Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain now feels less like a rumour and more like a countdown. Barcelona’s latest move has pushed the transfer to the brink of completion.

An initial agreement between the clubs is already in place, with PSG and Barça locked in intense negotiations over the final structure of the deal for the Spain international. The last few hours have been frantic: offers flying in, counter-offers thrown back, clauses debated, numbers reworked. The haggling has finally given way to what both sides see as a settled understanding.

The clearest sign came from the training pitch.

Barça grant Torres absence as deal nears

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona allowed Torres to skip training on Thursday morning – the second consecutive session he has missed. He was due back with Hansi Flick’s squad on Wednesday. Instead, the 26-year-old has stayed away to finalise his move to PSG, with the full consent of the club.

That detail matters. Barça are not just tolerating his absence; they are actively negotiating with the French champions while he wraps up personal terms and formalities. The message is unmistakable: they are preparing for life without him.

While Torres stayed away, the rest of Flick’s squad went through their work at the training ground, a group in flux as the market bites.

Pau Cubarsi, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal all joined the main group at the start of Wednesday’s session, adding quality and youth to Flick’s options. Pedri Gonzalez, still managing his workload, continued to train in the gym and did not step onto the grass.

Futures on hold around Flick’s squad

Around them, several players remain in limbo. Marc Casado, Hector Fort, Jofre Torrents, Toni Fernandez and Gerard Martin are all training away from the main group as they wait for clarity over their futures. For them, this is a tense window, their situations described as complicated and unresolved.

Flick still has a sizeable contingent from the reserves under his command. Goalkeeper Aron Yaakobishvili is among them, even as he edges close to a move to Almeria. Centre-back Alvaro Cortes, right-back Xavi Espart, left-back Jordi Pesquer, midfielders Ibrahima Toncara, Aurin Gorin and Brian Farinas, plus striker Hamza Abdelkarim, continue to work under the new coach while the club decides their next steps.

Around all of this, one storyline dominates. With Torres excused from training, an agreement in place and negotiations entering the final stretch, Barcelona and PSG are no longer talking about possibilities. They are finishing a deal that will send a Spain forward to Paris and leave Flick to redraw his attacking plans before the season truly starts.
