Ferran Torres Absent from Training as PSG Move Finalizes

Ferran Torres was absent from FC Barcelona training for the second straight day on Thursday, and this time the reason feels definitive: his move to PSG is on the brink of completion.

The club has kept in place the special permission granted to the 26-year-old forward, who was originally scheduled to rejoin Hansi Flick’s sessions on Wednesday. Instead, he is using that time to tie up the final details of his transfer to the French and European champions, with Barcelona’s full approval.

Deal close at €55 million

Negotiations between Barça and PSG are in their decisive phase. Multiple well-sourced reports agree that an agreement is practically done, with the total package expected to reach around €55 million, including add-ons.

On the player’s side, everything is already lined up. Ferran has an agreement in place with PSG, and Luis Enrique has reportedly outlined a clear plan for how the Spain World Cup winner will slot into his squad. With that roadmap agreed, there is little sense in Torres risking injury in training while the clubs finalise paperwork and payment structure.

So he stays away from the group for a second day, waiting for the final green light.

Aron Yaakobishvili — himself close to a move to Almeria — remains in the sessions, along with Alvaro Cortes, Xavi Espart, Jordi Pesquer, Ebrima Tunkara, Orian Goren, Brian Farinas and forward Hamza Abdelkarim. They are the faces filling out drills, the energy behind the senior pros, and in some cases, the insurance policy if the market does not deliver reinforcements.
