Fenerbahce Signs Lukaku as Statement Signing for Title Challenge

Fenerbahce have made their biggest move of the summer, officially unveiling Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku after sealing a permanent deal with Napoli.

The club kept the numbers behind closed doors, but French outlet Foot Mercato values the transfer at around 6 million euros, with the final cost potentially climbing through bonuses and performance-related add-ons. For a forward of Lukaku’s pedigree, it is a striking piece of business.

At 33, Lukaku leaves Italy with an Italian league title from his two seasons at Napoli and swaps Serie A for a new stage in Turkey. This is not a late-career glide. It is a jump into a project that expects him to deliver immediately.

Centrepiece of an aggressive rebuild

Lukaku arrives as the latest headline act in a Fenerbahce rebuild that looks anything but subtle. The club is not just tweaking around the edges; it is tearing up the old script.

This summer alone, Mason Greenwood, Nathan Ake and Vedat Muriqi have walked through the door, with Muriqi set to battle Lukaku directly for the starting role at centre-forward. That competition says everything about the level Fenerbahce now demand.
