Erling Haaland Scores Twice to Equal Aguero's Champions League Record

“It’s not easy for Erling or for any of the players that play for club and international teams,” he said. “I think it is normal that you see these players start to be tired. So, it’s correct to give them some rest. It can be one game out or one week away.

“It depends on which moment we are in but the priority is to allow the players to be good and happy. When you see them tired the risk of injury increases, and we need players who are 100 percent.”

On this evidence, Haaland looked close enough.

The double in Porto did not come out of nowhere. He arrived in Portugal in full stride. Over the weekend, he had just reached his 300th club goal, hitting that milestone faster than modern greats like Cristiano Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe. The week before that, he had scored twice as well.
