Dario Osorio: The Hunted Young Attacker in Europe
Dario Osorio has gone from intriguing prospect to one of the most hunted young attackers in Europe – and the clock on this transfer window is only making the chase more frantic.
The 22-year-old Chilean, a left-footed winger who has been tormenting full-backs for FC Midtjylland, is being tracked by a cluster of Premier League clubs, with Liverpool among those keeping a particularly close eye on developments. Everton and Leeds United are also in the mix, while AC Milan refuse to step aside and remain firmly involved, according to sources in Denmark and Italy. Arsenal’s interest has been simmering in the background since last summer and has not gone away.
This is no hype built on potential alone. Since arriving in Denmark from Universidad de Chile in 2023, Osorio has accelerated through the gears. He has racked up 117 appearances for Midtjylland, producing 23 goals and 18 assists, and turned that club form into regular international recognition with Chile, where he already has 25 caps.
Coaches and scouts have been drawn to the same traits: pace that stretches defences, direct running that forces mistakes, and a comfort operating on either flank. The comparisons with Alexis Sanchez are inevitable – and Midtjylland have been listening. They are convinced that profile, combined with his numbers and age, warrants a major fee.
Valuation and Expectations
Inside the club, the valuation is clear. Midtjylland want around €20 million (£17.1m / $23.4m) and are ready to listen if someone hits that mark. Lower offers have already been turned away. The expectation in Denmark is that English and Italian interest will push the price up as the deadline nears.
Behind the scenes, the message from Midtjylland’s coaching staff and directors is blunt: they anticipate losing Osorio and another key forward before the window closes, and describe at least one sale as almost inevitable. No formal bid has yet been accepted, but the volume and seriousness of enquiries point towards movement in the coming days.
Possible Destinations
Where he lands is the real intrigue. The Premier League offers profile, intensity and money. Serie A, with Milan’s interest, offers tradition and a different kind of stage. What is not in doubt is the belief among clubs that Osorio is ready to step up from the Danish Superliga to a higher level.
Liverpool’s need for wide reinforcements is no secret. They have explored deals for Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye and are open to bringing in as many as two wingers if the market breaks their way. Osorio fits the age bracket, the resale profile and the tactical demands of a high-pressing side.
Across Stanley Park, Everton are also pushing to add another wide player before the window shuts. Jack Grealish remains of interest, Como’s Assane Diao is on their shortlist, and Osorio has been discussed as an option by David Moyes’ recruitment team as they weigh up cost, availability and upside.
Leeds, looking to arm themselves for a promotion push, are monitoring the situation carefully, aware that a bidding war could quickly move Osorio beyond their financial reach. Arsenal, long-term admirers, are watching too, ready to pounce if the numbers and squad dynamics align.
What started as quiet scouting has now turned into a full-blown race. Midtjylland are open for business at the right price, the player is widely viewed as ready for the next step, and the window is ticking down.
The only question left is whose shirt Dario Osorio pulls on when the dust finally settles on this summer’s market.
