Cristiano Ronaldo Marries Georgina Rodríguez in Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo is officially a married man.

The Portuguese star and his long-time partner Georgina Rodríguez tied the knot on Tuesday in a civil ceremony in Cascais, a coastal town just outside Lisbon. The event, handled away from the spotlight, was described by Ronaldo’s public relations team, Brunswick Group, as “a private and intimate moment attended by their five children.”

No red carpet. No stadium roar. Just family.

The couple, who first met in Madrid a decade ago, shared a single, simple image on their Instagram accounts: their hands, their rings, and a quiet confirmation of a relationship that has grown alongside one of football’s most scrutinized careers.

Ronaldo, 41, comes into this new chapter off the back of a remarkable milestone on the pitch. He recently played in his record-tying sixth World Cup for Portugal, extending a career that has already brought him five world player of the year awards and cemented his status as one of the most recognizable athletes on the planet.

Life, though, does not slow down around him. While the wedding offered a rare pause, his schedule will not. His Saudi club, Al Nassr, opens its domestic campaign on Saturday, with Ronaldo now stepping into the season as both captain and newly married man.
