Chelsea Steps In to Challenge Juventus for Dutch Striker Joshua Zirkzee

Chelsea Intervenes in Joshua Zirkzee's Expected Move to Juventus

Joshua Zirkzee, the Dutch striker currently with Manchester United, has reportedly promised Juventus a transfer, yet Chelsea is now attempting to disrupt the deal, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Juventus have been monitoring Zirkzee for some time, and this summer a loan agreement with an option to buy seems increasingly likely. The forward appears eager to join Italy's most decorated club, but Chelsea's interest complicates the picture.

Juventus Adjust Their Forward Line

Earlier in the summer, Juventus parted ways with Lois Openda, who moved on to Olympique Lyon in France. His successor, Randal Kolo-Muani, arrived permanently from Paris Saint-Germain.

The club also intends to offload Jonathan David, the Canadian striker, before they can make Zirkzee's move permanent. Yet, David is reluctant to leave Turin, which could delay Zirkzee's signing despite his patience.

This uncertainty leaves the transfer far from guaranteed, even though all parties—Zirkzee, Juventus, and Manchester United—are on board with the move for now.

Zirkzee Impresses in Recent Match

Last week, Zirkzee showcased his skills during Manchester United's friendly against BK Rosenborg. The 25-year-old impressed by weaving past two defenders and the goalkeeper before finishing calmly.
