Champions League 2026/27 Draw: Schedule, Seedings & Live Viewing Details

Champions League 2026/27 Draw: When and Where

The draw for the UEFA Champions League 2026/27 league phase is set for Thursday, August 27, at 5pm BST (12 noon ET). The event will be held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, a prestigious location befitting the tournament's stature.

Hosting the draw again is Reshmin Chowdhury, supported by UEFA deputy secretary general Giorgio Marchetti and journalist Pedro Pinto, who once served as UEFA’s managing director of communications. UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin will deliver remarks during the ceremony.

Seeding Pots for the 2026/27 Season

The 36 participating teams are split into four pots based on their five-year UEFA club coefficients. The reigning champions, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), take an automatic place in Pot 1.

  • Pot 1: Paris Saint-Germain (France), Bayern Munich (Germany), Real Madrid (Spain), Liverpool (England), Inter Milan (Italy), Manchester City (England), Arsenal (England), Barcelona (Spain), Atlético Madrid (Spain)
  • Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Roma (Italy), Sporting (Portugal), Aston Villa (England), Porto (Portugal), Manchester United (England), Club Brugge (Belgium), Real Betis (Spain), PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands)
  • Pot 3: Feyenoord (Netherlands), Lille (France), Bodo/Glimt (Norway), Napoli (Italy), RB Leipzig (Germany), Villarreal (Spain), Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), Galatasaray (Turkey), Fenerbahçe (Turkey)
  • Pot 4: Slavia Prague (Czech Republic), VfB Stuttgart (Germany), LASK (Austria), Como (Italy), Lens (France), Sabah (Azerbaijan), Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia), AEK Athens (Greece), Viking (Norway)

Each team will face two opponents from each pot, playing one home match and one away. Teams from the same country cannot be paired in this stage, so for example, Real Madrid won't meet Real Betis here.

UEFA introduced a new regulation this season: no fixture between the same two clubs may repeat with the same home side three times consecutively. For instance, if Arsenal and Inter Milan draw together, the venue must change if they met twice in a row previously.

Top Contenders and Storylines

Paris Saint-Germain aims for a rare third consecutive title. Meanwhile, Real Madrid, led by José Mourinho, want to end their European trophy drought. Arsenal, after finishing second last year and strengthening their squad over summer, believe they have a solid chance to claim their first Champions League crown.
