Bayern Munich Pursues Manchester United Star JJ Gabriel

Bayern Munich are pushing to the front of the queue for Manchester United prodigy JJ Gabriel, with the teenager understood to have told the club he wants out and is not expected to pull on their shirt again.

The 15-year-old forward, long regarded as one of the brightest prospects in United’s academy, has become the subject of serious interest from two of Europe’s superpowers. According to reports in The Sun and the Manchester Evening News, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have both held talks with Gabriel’s camp as he looks for a fresh start on the continent.

The tug-of-war has unfolded with the help of prominent intermediary Ali Barat. While players under 16 cannot be formally represented by an agent, Barat and his agency, Epic Sports, have played a key role in opening the door to Bayern and Madrid and are viewed as leading contenders to officially represent Gabriel once he is eligible.

Bayern have not tried to hide their admiration. Sporting director Christoph Freund publicly hailed Gabriel’s potential at a press conference last week, stopping just short of confirming any move.

“I don't talk about players who are under contract with other clubs. We know the player because he's very talented. He's an exceptional talent. I can't say anything more about that,” Freund said.

For now, United face the prospect of losing a highly rated youngster before he ever gets close to their first team, while Bayern and Real Madrid circle a player already being spoken about as one of the standout talents of his age group.
