Aston Villa Acquire Alejandro Garnacho on Loan from Chelsea

Aston Villa Secure Alejandro Garnacho on Season-Long Loan

Aston Villa have brought in Argentinian winger Alejandro Garnacho on an initial loan deal from Chelsea, with a condition that the transfer becomes permanent next summer. The two Premier League clubs made the announcement public on Thursday.

Unai Emery Praises New Signing

"We are delighted with Alejandro. He is so talented, young and he showed us his wish to help our project. We are really happy," said Unai Emery in a statement issued by the club.

The 22-year-old joins Villa after a challenging season at Chelsea, where he found it tough to establish himself as a regular starter following a £40 million transfer from Manchester United last year. Over the course of the season, he featured in 43 matches across all competitions and scored eight goals.

Garnacho had spent five years at Manchester United before leaving last summer, finishing with 26 goals in 144 appearances for the club. His time there ended as he fell out of favour with former head coach Ruben Amorim.

A product of Atletico Madrid's youth system, Garnacho was named in Argentina's preliminary 55-man squad for the World Cup but did not make it into the final team.
