Araujo Joins Reds as Como Preparations Intensify
Ronald Araujo wasted no time getting to work. The defender, who completed his loan move from FC Barcelona on Monday, was straight into the Reds’ midweek session as Andoni Iraola ramped up preparations for a friendly double-header against Como 1907.
The Uruguay international joined full-contact drills with his new teammates, quickly thrown into rapid-fire rondos and high-tempo positional work as the coaching staff pushed intensity levels.
There was more good news for Iraola. Alexis Mac Allister, back in the building earlier this week to start pre-season, also trained with the group, sharpening up in possession-based exercises and small-sided games.
Jeremy Jacquet and Curtis Jones returned as well after missing last weekend’s clash with AS Monaco. Both took a full part in Wednesday’s workout, adding depth and competition across the squad as the friendlies loom.
With the tempo high and numbers growing, Iraola’s group now drive into the Como 1907 double-header with fresh legs, a new defender from Barcelona, and a training ground that suddenly feels a lot busier.
