Anthony Martial Set for Surprise Move to Málaga CF

Anthony Martial is closing in on a surprise move to Málaga CF, with the Spanish club, currently 18th in La Liga, emerging as the frontrunner for the free agent, according to Foot Mercato.

The 30-year-old forward, once tipped as one of Europe’s brightest attacking talents during his time at Manchester United, has been searching for a new project since ending his spell with CF Monterrey. Rather than return to France, Martial has reportedly rejected two approaches from Ligue 1 sides, opting instead for a fresh start in Spain and the chance to rebuild his career in a struggling but historic club.

The interest has not been limited to Europe. In Libya, Al-Ittihad Tripoli pushed hard to lure him, shortly after securing Moroccan winger Sofiane Boufal. The club’s hierarchy did not hold back: they are said to have put an extraordinary offer on the table.

The proposal? A net salary of 10 million euros over two years, plus a 5 million euro signing bonus. Numbers that would turn most heads.

Martial, though, is reported to have said no. He has chosen to chase what he views as a genuine sporting project rather than the most lucrative deal, a decision that now seems set to lead him to Málaga and a very different kind of challenge.
