RB Leipzig Pursues Matias Fernandez-Pardo as Transfer Deadline Approaches

RB Leipzig are moving hard for Matias Fernandez-Pardo as the transfer window ticks into its final days.

Sky Germany report that Die Roten Bullen have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the Belgium international, clearing a major hurdle in the deal. The next step is convincing Lille.

Leipzig have reportedly tabled an offer worth around €32–33 million, a package that includes what are described as realistic bonuses. It’s a fee that underlines how highly the Bundesliga club rate the 21-year-old.

Fernandez-Pardo’s numbers are still those of a developing forward rather than a finished product: 12 goals and 11 assists in 71 appearances for Lille. But the blend of output and potential fits neatly with Leipzig’s long-standing transfer model.

The move for the striker is not happening in isolation. Leipzig are also closing in on a loan deal for Christopher Nkunku from AC Milan, aiming to bring the former fan favourite back to Saxony.
