Napoli are cranking up the pressure on Chelsea as they move decisively for teenage striker Marc Guiu, with the Italian club ready to put serious money on the table to land their new No. 9 before the window slams shut.

Sky Sport Italia report that Napoli are preparing an offer in the region of €15–16 million, plus performance-related bonuses, to sign the Spaniard on a permanent deal. It is not a trial balloon. It is a statement.

The push comes as Massimiliano Allegri looks to remodel a forward line that has stuttered in recent months, both in terms of goals and balance. Napoli want a focal point, a penalty-box striker to build around as they chase a return to the European places. Inside the club, Guiu has been elevated to priority status for these final, frantic days of the market.

From La Masia to limbo

Guiu’s name has been on recruitment lists across Europe ever since his days at Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy. Chelsea moved quickly in 2024 to snap him up, but his Premier League adventure has barely started before hitting a wall.

At Stamford Bridge, he has slipped into what has been described as a kind of purgatory: part of a swollen squad, short on minutes, and even shorter on clear opportunities. The pathway to regular football is clogged, and at 18, that matters.

That context only sharpens the current push. Napoli want a new centre-forward now, not in January, and they believe Guiu is the attainable option who fits their profile: young, hungry, and available at a price they can stretch to.
