Michele Di Gregorio Joins Bournemouth on Loan from Juventus

Michele Di Gregorio has swapped Turin for the south coast, joining Bournemouth from Juventus on a paid loan with a sizeable option to buy that could push the total package beyond €15m.

The move was confirmed by both clubs on Tuesday morning, ending weeks of negotiation and handing Andoni Iraola a goalkeeper with genuine top-level pedigree.

Bournemouth will pay €1.3m for the one-year loan, with a further €800,000 tied to performance-related targets. If all goes to plan, the real commitment comes next summer.

The agreement includes an option to buy for €12.7m, spread over three financial years, plus up to €1.5m in add-ons. For a goalkeeper, it is a serious investment and a clear signal that Bournemouth see Di Gregorio as more than short-term cover.

Tiago Pinto made that point plain.

"Michele is a goalkeeper with excellent qualities and valuable experience at the highest level," the Bournemouth director said. "He has consistently demonstrated his ability in Serie A and in European competitions, and we believe he will be an excellent addition to our squad."

For Juventus, the deal continues a dramatic reset in goal.

Di Gregorio leaves after two seasons in Turin, during which he conceded 84 goals in 84 matches and kept 36 clean sheets. Those numbers underline a steady, reliable presence behind a defence that has gone through its own rebuild.

His departure follows another significant move: Mattia Perin has already dropped down a division to join Serie B side Palermo, stripping away much of the old hierarchy in Juventus’ goalkeeping group.
