Marc Casadó: Emerging Midfielder Targeting Premier League Move

Marc Casadó is suddenly one of the most talked‑about midfielders in England – and he hasn’t even kicked a ball in the Premier League yet.

The Barcelona youngster, long on the fringes at the Spotify Camp Nou, has become a genuine target for a clutch of English clubs ahead of the new season, with his future in Catalonia looking increasingly remote under Hansi Flick.

Frozen out of the German’s plans, the 22-year-old has spent the summer linked with a move away from Barcelona, his name circulating across Europe and beyond. Saudi Arabia has been viewed as the most likely escape route for weeks, a lucrative option and a well-trodden path for players seeking a new start.

Casadó is not biting.

He wants one of Europe’s top five leagues. He wants a stage that still feels like the centre of the sport.

That stance has opened the door for the Premier League. According to Mundo Deportivo, relaying information from English outlet TEAMtalk, at least five English clubs have now made moves to understand his situation.

Clubs Interested

Nottingham Forest are described as the most aggressive suitors so far, pushing hardest to bring the midfielder to the City Ground. Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Brighton are also in the conversation, while Sunderland, looking to muscle in from the Championship, are keeping themselves in the frame.

The interest is real. So is Barcelona’s price.

The La Liga giants are aiming to bring in around €40 million from Casadó’s sale, a significant fee for a player yet to establish himself in their first team but one they believe reflects his potential and the current market.

A midfielder on the outside at Camp Nou, a queue forming in England, and a club eyeing a sizeable payday: Casadó’s next move will say plenty about where he wants his career to go – and which Premier League project is ready to bet big on him.
