Manchester United Target Baleba Amid Major Reshuffles by Liverpool, Arsenal, and Spurs

Manchester United are closing in on their third midfield signing of the summer after tabling a £60m bid for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, with the deal now edging towards completion.

United have tracked the Cameroon international for more than a year, first identifying him as a target last summer. At that point Brighton were quoting figures in excess of £100m for the 22-year-old, a price that instantly shut down serious negotiations. A difficult season on the south coast has changed the landscape. United sense value and are prepared to increase their offer by a further £5m to get it done.

If Brighton agree, Baleba will join a rapidly rebuilt Old Trafford midfield as United try to inject younger legs and more aggression into the centre of the pitch.

Liverpool listen on Curtis Jones as Inter circle

Up the M62, Liverpool are deep in talks with Inter Milan over a possible sale of Curtis Jones, with the Italian champions pushing to take the academy product to San Siro.

Discussions are active but no agreement is in place yet. Inter have revived their interest in the 23-year-old and Liverpool are understood to be open to a deal at around €35m (£30m). At that price, the club would consider sanctioning Jones’s departure, breaking a long association with a player who has come through their system and captained the side at youth level.

While those negotiations continue, Liverpool’s recruitment team remain focused on Bradley Barcola. The Reds have cooled their interest in his PSG team‑mate Ibrahim Mbaye, but Barcola stays on their list as they look for more attacking thrust in wide areas.

Arsenal land Konsa in defensive reshuffle

Arsenal, meanwhile, have moved decisively to reinforce their back line, agreeing a deal worth around £51m with Aston Villa for Ezri Konsa.

Mikel Arteta has been pushing for defensive cover after William Saliba’s serious injury exposed the fragility of his options last season, even with Jurrien Timber now returning to fitness. A right-sided defender was marked as a priority for a squad intent on defending their Premier League title, and Arsenal believe Konsa fits that profile.

The 28-year-old is expected to compete primarily with Cristhian Mosquera as the main deputy for Saliba alongside Gabriel Magalhaes. The timing is pointed: Konsa could make his Arsenal debut against his former club Aston Villa as early as next week, a swift reunion that underlines the ruthlessness of the market.

Tottenham eye Marmoush and Savinho in attacking shake-up

In north London, Tottenham are plotting a double attacking move as they weigh up deals for Omar Marmoush and Savinho, with both players on a list that could see Spurs buy twice from Manchester City.

Savinho has been on Tottenham’s radar for some time. The club seriously considered a £50m move for the Brazilian winger last summer and have kept close tabs on his development since. Now, as Roberto De Zerbi looks to reshape his forward line, Savinho is again under discussion.

He is not alone. Spurs are also keen on Marmoush as De Zerbi drives an ambitious, and expensive, overhaul of a squad that only just escaped relegation last season. The Italian wants more firepower, more speed, more threat in transition. Tottenham’s willingness to back him in the market will say plenty about how high they dare to aim this year.
