Luis Campos Confirms PSG Transfer Activity Amid Liverpool Interest in Barcola and Mbaye

PSG's Transfer Window Still Open as Luis Campos Speaks Out

Luis Campos, the sports advisor for Paris Saint-Germain, has made it clear that the club’s transfer business is far from finished with the deadline approaching on September 1. Despite rumors swirling around, PSG continues to explore opportunities for both incoming and outgoing players.

Campos Issues Market Update

During a recent media briefing, Campos emphasized that PSG remains open to deals until the very last moment. He reminded fans of last season’s late move involving Gigio Donnarumma, who left for Manchester City after the window closed on September 2, signaling that unexpected transfers can happen at any time.

"The transfer window is far from over, it's still open. Between now and the end, on the arrivals side, if we find a good opportunity, we'll take it. It's like that every year."

Liverpool Targets Barcola and Mbaye

The Premier League club Liverpool has shown interest in two PSG attackers: Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye. Barcola, who broke through impressively last season, has been recognized as one of Europe’s most exciting wide forwards. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Mbaye has been attracting attention due to his rapid progress in PSG’s academy, catching the eye of several English clubs looking to strengthen their squads long-term.

Neither player featured in PSG’s recent Ligue 1 opener against Rennes, which ended 2-2. This followed their absence from the squad during the Trophée des Champions loss to Lens and the UEFA Super Cup win over Aston Villa.

PSG Holds Firm on Key Players

Despite ongoing speculation about Liverpool’s interest in Barcola and Mbaye, PSG is not rushing to sell. Coach Luis Enrique values Barcola highly, and the club regards Mbaye as an important future asset. When asked about these players, Campos remained noncommittal:

"You mentioned (Bradley) Barcola and (Ibrahim) Mbaye, we'll see what happens."

Negotiations are active. Liverpool’s initial offer for Barcola was rejected, and while talks continue, PSG reportedly demands around €70 million for Mbaye, a price Liverpool is currently reluctant to meet.

Next Steps for PSG

PSG aims to improve its early-season form while continuing transfer dealings. The Parisians started the season with a French Super Cup defeat to Lens and drew 2-2 with Rennes in Ligue 1. Their upcoming league match is against Lille on August 28.

With Campos steering the club’s transfer strategy, PSG looks set to stay busy in the market and resist Liverpool’s attempts to acquire Barcola and Mbaye before the window closes on September 1.
