Endrick Commits to Real Madrid for 2025-26 Season Despite Aston Villa Interest

After talks with Jose Mourinho, Endrick has chosen to remain at Real Madrid for the 2025-26 season despite attention from Aston Villa and other Premier League clubs. The young Brazilian is ready to compete for his spot within Madrid's star-studded attack.

The Athletic reports that the decision was made collectively by Endrick, the club leadership, and Mourinho. Many European teams have kept close watch on the 20-year-old’s development, especially given his limited playing time. Still, Endrick will continue his path in Spain rather than moving elsewhere.

Mourinho’s Tactical Plans for Endrick

The Portuguese coach intends to use Endrick more frequently on the right wing this season. Mourinho views neither midfielder Federico Valverde nor newcomer Bernardo Silva as consistent options for that flank. By deploying Endrick there, he aims to create a more balanced and dynamic attacking line capable of fluid position switches over 90 minutes.

Besides operating wide, Endrick will also be an important backup striker behind Kylian Mbappe, sharing duties with new signing Carlos Espi. This versatile role ensures Endrick remains a key part of the squad rotation for both La Liga and Champions League matches.

Tracking Endrick’s Progress at Madrid

Since transferring from Palmeiras in July 2024 for an initial €35 million plus €25 million in bonuses, Endrick has faced high expectations and scrutiny. He has made 40 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring seven goals mainly as a substitute.

Internationally, Endrick holds strong status after being selected by former Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti for Brazil’s 26-man World Cup squad. He played in all but one match during the tournament, which ended in a round of 16 loss to Norway.

Preparing for the Upcoming La Liga Season

Real Madrid are getting ready for their league opener against Espanyol on August 22. Keeping Endrick contrasts with the club’s approach toward other youngsters like Franco Mastantuono, who has been loaned to Fiorentina for the season.

Endrick’s situation will be reviewed again in January, similar to when he spent time on loan at Lyon earlier this year due to scarce minutes at Madrid. In France’s Ligue 1, he impressed by scoring eight goals in 21 matches across competitions.
