Durand Cup 2026 Overview

The 135th Durand Cup kicked off on Saturday, July 25, with the iconic Kolkata derby between East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant. A total of 24 teams will compete across five cities from July 25 to August 23, making this one of the largest editions of Asia's oldest football tournament.

Host Cities and Venues

Kolkata remains the primary host, featuring matches at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan and Kishore Bharati Krirangan stadiums. The city hosts two group stages, the opening match, two quarterfinals, one semifinal, and the final.

Other venues include Ranchi, Imphal, Shillong, and Guwahati. Notably, Ranchi is a new host city this year, with the Birsa Munda Stadium holding group matches from July 26 to August 16 and one quarterfinal.

The Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal will see games from July 28 to August 17 and host a quarterfinal. Shillong’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium stages fixtures from July 31 to August 20 and one semifinal. Guwahati’s Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium hosts group-stage games from August 1 to 13.

When Does Durand Cup 2026 Take Place?

The tournament runs from July 25 until the final on August 23.

Teams Competing in Durand Cup 2026

Mohun Bagan Super Giant, 17-time champions, and 16-time winners East Bengal FC headline the Kolkata groups along with Mohammedan SC, South United FC, CISF Protectors, and debutants Baghpat FC and Samaleswari Sporting.

In Ranchi, Jamshedpur FC, Sporting Club Delhi, and Indian Air Force compete alongside Sri Lanka’s Defenders FC.

TRAU FC, NEROCA FC, and Indian Navy play in Imphal, joined by newcomers FC Raengdai, last season’s I-League 3 runners-up.

Shillong features Shillong Lajong FC, Langsning FC, Nongkseh SS&CC, and debutants Mumbay FC.

The defending champions NorthEast United FC lead the Guwahati group along with FC1, Bodoland FC, and Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC.
